Baby Pool

Hi friends and family!

Sorry we've been delinquent with the blog for a whole week. We've been busy trying to get a bunch of stuff done before this little (I hope) one arrives....painting, planting, cleaning, bringing stuff to goodwill and the dump, putting batteries in Julia's toys, etc. Actually, I have to give Mike 90% of the credit...I've been working many hours at the hospital these days and haven't had much time at home to get anything done except for playing with the J. At any rate, we're due in five days (Memorial Day), and I know in my heart that there's no way in God's Green Earth that we'll get all those flowers planted, get the second (or even the first) coat of paint on our bedroom wall, or get most of the crap out of the basement before the baby comes. Oh well....at least we can give it a shot.

I probably should have done this earlier, but I want to know what you think: post a comment on today's blog with a guess for the baby pool. Sex of the baby, date of the birth, and weight (bonus points to those who guess small numbers in the latter category....) The winner will achieve fame: we'll give you the credit on the Sprengeler blog. Or, maybe, we'll just name the baby after the winner, considering that we haven't picked out names yet. (Compiling a list of name ideas for Baby #2 is currently on the LIST of things that we have to do before baby arrives...ha ha ha.) So, give us your thoughts. Julia was born on the day before her due date, and she was 7# 12oz. Let's see who wins!

(Just so you don't forget... I'm Allison's friend from college, remember?)

Okay, I'll bite first... And since I don't know you except through your blog (which I love by the way), you are allowed to take my guess with a grain of salt...

I'm thinking boy (but maybe that's just because it seems everyone I know personally are getting "one of each" lately).
8 lbs (sorry, I'm going up in weight, but I'll say his head circumference is less than 50 percentile)
Birthdate: May 27

Also, a quick note... My first was due on (or around, I can't quite remember) Memorial Day. I changed the holiday's name to Labor Day. I thought it fitting.

Okay, I'm game, too...

Date: May 27 (Day after Memorial Day)
Weight: 8 lbs. 12 oz. (sorry...)
Gender: Boy (because if I win, Matthew is a silly name for a girl)

Well let’s see since I was wrong with your first thinking it was a boy I’ll give the BOY one a try again. Mary is a rather poor choice for a boy’s name but little Mike sounds good to me.
Date: Hmmmmm you know these baby type people they do tend to have a mind of their own using my own as an example. So like what’s a due date for?!! I say this little sweetie will be making an entrance on May 30 and will weigh in at 8 pounds and 10 ounces. He will be smiling and looking forward to being a Sprengeler and will be a content happy little guy knowing life will be full of adventures here.

Boy - to be named Henry James (only because you mentioned Henry the last time we saw you and James because Joy would not work)

8lbs. 10oz.
Praying for you and your family during count down to baby 2 and always.

Hey guys!
May 25th, and of course I'm going against the grain and saying girl.
Katy-Beth Lillian Sprengler :0)

I'm usually super horrible at these things too but I'm going to take a swing at it. Let's go with a boy (everyone I know is having boys as well) born on Sunday the 25th weighing in at 8lbs 2oz. How about Paul Michael for the name?
Hope all goes well! Can't wait to hear!

Chef and family,
My guesses....I sure hope I am right, I could use some fame!

6/2/08 (just because I love math, and you have some more things to get done before baby comes)
Girl power!
9 pounds 2 ounces (future Big Girls Club Member!)
Grace Marie or Melissa if you HAVE to!

Good luck, we are thinking of you!

All right, I'll take a shot:

Delivery date of May 24, a boy, and a weight of 8# 14.5oz (sorry!). Don't worry, you don't have to name him Megan...I vote for Henry, or - wait, I can't give you all my names! :P
I'm thinking of you and praying for you everyday. :)

Megan

Alright... I changed my mind. Allison said girl, so it must be a girl. I think she has been spot on so far. Even with my newest (born on 4-24-08) and that was guess at 18 weeks!

I'll go boy only because I have a few boy names I can't use. So the name will be Oscar Henry and this boy will be born on the 26th of May weighing in at 8 lbs 5 ounces (not near my hospital record of ll.9).

I think you're having another girl. Also because I think Kelly is having another boy and Julia and Asa are so cute together I'd love to see couple number 2!!! I do think she is going to be a little bigger than Julia was, I'll go for 8 lb. 1 oz. I think she is coming on Memorial Day. Best wishes, hopefully when John hears the good news he'll remember to tell me - or I'll figure it out eventually!

I forgot to mention that my name is a win win situation. Dani for a girl - Danny for a boy, although I personally think it is a much better girl's name :) Not that I'm biased there!

Grandma and Grandpa Sprengeler are going with Wednesday, May 28th. We're thinking an 8 pound, 6 ounce boy. And, Henry Louis would be wonderful - that was Michael's great-grandfather's name. By the way, the reason you'll be a little overdue (and this is directly from Grandma Schwartz) is that boys need a few extra days to grow the "stem" ;~)

Hmm... I think baby will come on April 27, weighing 8# 4oz, and it will be a boy!

Hmm... names?? Well, the unfortunate part of being a teacher is that so many names are not available due to the fact they will just remind you of a kid from your class. Right now the only safe name I can think of is Irwin... I may have problems if I ever have kids!

Wow, you sure know how to generate the comments, Cheffer! Well, I was going to stick with the whole "24" number, which means you would've had the baby yesterday. But maybe you did! I'd say a girl at 8 lbs., 3 oz. Can't wait to hear about your newest addition!

I think Wednesday after Memorial Day. A boy weighing 8 pounds and six ounces. You pick the name.
